Get Out Alive is a new afrogoth musical by artist Nikki Lynette that recounts her personal journey with mental health. It was an official selection of the BronzeLens (Winner–Best Actress; Atlanta), Chicago Indie (Winner-Best First Time Filmmaker; Illinois), Lake County (Winner–Audience Best Feature; Illinois), AuContraire (Canada), Cannes World (France), Melbourne Lift-Off (Australia), Decibels (San Francisco), Sound Unseen (Minneapolis). Gabrielle’s credit includes: Theatrical Lighting Designer & Design Consultant. She is excited to return to the Get Out Alive team when it was run at The Haven Chicago as the Lighting Designer.
An experimental web-based production asks the question, “What is my body in the internet?”. During the pandemic, Gabrielle collaborated with Roger Ellis and Margaret Kemp to create a new media, generative-experience stepping into the role of film maker, projection design, and actor. Other actors took a workshop designed by Gabrielle Strong encouraging them to take agency over their compositions over lockdown.
